TRAINING NOTES.

(By "The Substitute.") A number of horses were out yesterday morning putting on the finishing touches for to-day's races. The first two to work were Gold Bird and Pharmaceutical. They dropped off at the half mile, Pharmaceutical getting a couple of lengths advantage at the start. The Blenheim owned horse finished about the same distance in front in 51*.- Glen, from ; a^ flying start, covered five furlongs in 1.7 J-o. Glen Spring went twice round athali pace. Vinco and Lucretius, from a flying start did five furlongs in 1.4 3-5. -Vinco finished in front. Ora Pmsent galloped three furlongs in 37 seconds, but pulled up lame, and in consequence may not face the starter today. Curator galloped half a mile m 51 seconds, Golden Gate covering a similar distance from a flying start in the same time; San Fernando also galloped half a mile in 53secs. Silken Rein and Purakau went five furlongs together, Purakau gaining a couple of lengths advantage at the start, but Silken Rein beat him easily at the finish by three lengths in. 1.4 3-5. King's Wreath and Bridesmaid did half pace work. Lawn Rose was out for a spin over the Cup distance, but after going two furlongs the saddle slipped, and she pulled up.
