NEW ALPINE MINE.

(Special to "The Colonist.") 1 Greymouth, March 29. The NeWv. Alpine minels secretary reports for the week ending tho 23rd of_ March the following progress at the mine:— ln No. 1 stope, going north; thero is an average of 2ft 6in of Bolid stone. In No. 2 stope, going south, there'is an averago of sft 6in of solid reef going overhead,, and in the face will average sft. In No. 2 south stope. we have from 3ft 6in to 4ft of clean stone. This stone is not connected with the north stope, but will be in a day or two. In running No. 3 stope there is 4ft of reef.- Ninetyeight tons, were delivered at the battery for the week, making a total tonnage of 365 tons to date.
