The Commission's report oh communication between Sydney and North Sydney favours subways*, on the grounds that -the fairway *of the harbour, would not" be obstructed as it would be by a bridge. 'The Commission recommends a subway for railway traffic, with;the city terminus -in - Moore-street, costing £753,000, a second for the tramway at a cost" of £460,000, and a third for vehicular traffic/to cost- £502,000. It points put -that the subways can be constructed separately, whereas a bridge would have to be constructed before any of the respective services were available. :.■.'-.■■
