STOCK REPORT.

, ' Messrs Bisley Bros and Co., report 1 as follows -.—"Live stock sales have s been hold frequently within the last - fortnight but values have ruled a little 3 easier as compared with the previous 3 period, chiefly owing to dry weather. - At the same time our prices are quite equivalent to those ruling in tho b North Island. For the last 14 days i offerings at our various yards totalled s over 10,000 sheep' and almost every t lot was sold. ■ j Thorpe. — At this sale held on tho i 15th in st., we yarded 2400 sheep, and , the following prices were realised :— • Merino ewes, mixed mouths, mostly : eight-tooth to falling 8s to 8s 6d ; store crossbred wethers 8s to 8s 9d • extra good to 9s 9d ; store lambs, j mixed sexes, made 6s 6d to 8s 6d ; crossbred ewes 8s 9s to 12s 2d ; fat sheep, mostly ewesiOs 6d to 11s Tapawera.— On the 16th inst. at • thisfi xture, which is rapidly becoming a general centre., we yarded 2800 sheep. Competition however, was not quite equal to Thorpe and the prices realised were: Fat wethers 10s 6d to 11s 6d ; crossbred ewes 6s 4d, 7s, 8s 6d to 10s 2d ; line of two to six tooth 10s 6d ; store wethers to 9s 4d ; lambs 6s, 6s 9d to 7s 3d ; culled ewes as low as 3s 4d. Murchison.— This sale was held on the 20th, and there was a large attendance of farmers and others interested, .the entries being 1600 sheep as well as horses and cattle. Lambs were chiefly in demand, ruling at 7s to 9s 3d. Crossbred ewes Bs, 8s 6d to '9s 3d. A special line of young ewes brought 10s 6d ; half-bred wethers 9s to 9s 4d. Tadmor. — Our yarding here consisted of 1250 mixed, she.ep, almost every pen being cleared. The attendance was good and the prices ruled as follows :— Ewes, falling mouth 4s 6a to 5s 9d ; four six and eight tooth 8s to 9s ; wethers, good stores realised Ps, 9s lid and 10s; lambs sold well, real-s---inp 7s 6cFto is. Richmond.— Yarding at this fixture on the 24th inst. was very heavy, and the total sheep offering exceeded 2200 of which some 1700 wore sold. Store wethers made Bs,-8s 4d to 10s 6d : fats 10s 6d to Us 6cl, lambs 6s nnd 7s2tl, and some extra good were passed at 8s 9d. A few culs were sold as low as 2s 9d ; ewes, culls, from 5s to 6s, mostly failing mouths. Fresh eight tooth 7s 3d. to 8s 3d; mixed mouths, fair proportion of young sheep 8s 4d to 9s 6d ; fat ewes 9s to 10s 3d. Owing to the good rain during the last few days stock has already a hardening tendency and with showery weather we are. looking to an advance in prices of all classes, more especially for forward lambs, good ewes, and later, wethers for turnips. Judging by the good turnip crop throughout the Province wethers will later bo keenly sought for and should command good prices. Store cattle are still in fair demand, but with autumn approaching, as is usual at this time of the year we look for a weakening tendency except for fats which will advance in value.
