NELSON COLLEGE OLD GIRLS' ASSOCIATION.

ANNUAL MEETING,

The annual meeting of the Nelson College Old Girls' Association was hold at the Girls' College on Saturday evening. About 30 members were present, and Miss Lorimer, M.A., Principal of tho Girls' College, occupied the chair.

The balance-sheet, presented by the hon. secretary and treasurer (Miss L. Hunter-Brown), showed that the total receipts (including subscriptions (£25 17s), had amounted to £48 ls 6d, and that after paying all expenses there remained a credit balance of £30 7s 9d.

The report stated that the sub-com-mittee had made a selection of pictures, expending £33, and that these had now been hung on the walls of the College. It was mentioned incidentaUy that the pictures Jci-ated by the Association were insured for'i'SOO. Tho Old Girls' Scholarship had been won by Eileen A <3&ms, and the Association's prize for general knowledge by E _ Langbein ; md for ten 1 ! t by ,.M . Ciiflord. " The election of officers resulted as follows; — -President, Mrs Talbot; Vice-Presidents, Mesdames Evans (Wellington), Harper (Feilding), Grace, Kingsley (Nelson), Wilson and Dunne (Hokitika), Miss Lorimer (Nelson),- and. Miss Tendall (Brisbane); Committee : Mrs Broad, Misses. M. Maginnity, Kirtori. Scaly, HuiiterBrown, Hughes, M. Cock, D. Brusewitz, and E. Moore; Hon. Secretary and Treasurer, Miss P. Fell. _ The revision of rules was" then considered, and inter alia, teachers were made eligible for membership under certain conditions.

Some ' discussion also took place in regard to the deposit of funds'". A number of votes of thanks were passed, and tlio meeting closed in the usual manner. . ■
