St Petersburg, March 16. The "Novoe Vremya" reports that 1000 Persian horsemen and 500 tribesmen are marching on • the Persian bank of the river Araxes towards Julfa. They have pillaged and _burnt ten villages and massacred the inhabitants. Many- women carrying children on their backs were shot while attempting to swim the river to the Russian bank.
