His Honour Mr Justice Denniston, who has been "on a visit to Nelson in connection with the sittings of the Supreme % Court, returned to Wellington yesterday. _•

The Rev. J. R. Uurgin, accompanied by his wife and her lady companion, and three children, arrived in Nelson yesterday from the Old Country. The services of .Mr Burgin were secured by Bishop Mules during his recent visit to England. Mr Burgin will take charge of the Havelock parish, vice the Rev. A. W. C. Stace, who has been transferred to Seddon.

The death occurred in Edinburgh recently of Mr Charles N. B. Muston. for some years sub-editor of the "Otago Daily Times," and editor of the "Otago Witness." Mr Muston had latterly held a position in the Royal Scottish Museum.

A Press Association message from Marton states that Mr John Stevens, ex-M.P. for Manawatu, was entertained at a social last night and presented with an illuminated address. There was a large attendance, and the Premier (Sir J. G. Ward) was present.
