DEATH BY BURNING.
Gisborne,, March 13. Yesterday afternoon a Mrs Holloway received terrible burns about her body. She was melting beeswax on the stove when the -wax boiled over and shot into the flames. She rushed to the stove, and caught the dish in her apron and while endeavouring to bake it out the burning wax set .her tress alighf. Mrs Holloway rushed out screaming for help, and several neighbours were soon on _ the scene, md succeeded in extinguishing the ilames, after the poor woman's dress had been. almost completely burnt off. Although suffering intensely she had the presence of mind to tell the helpers thai; the house was on fire, and two ■aen who had arrived by . this time immediately went in and succeeded in suppressing the outbreak before any serious damage, was done. Mrs Holloway was carried into her room, where doctors, who had _ been sent for, bathed her injuries in oil and limewater, and wrapped them in lint ; but the unfortunate woman -succumbed at six o'clock' this morning. Deceased wasa young woman, and leaves one child.
