BURNS ' CELEBRATION.

There was a great gathering —of "Scots in honour of -the one hundredth uid fiftieth anniversary otthe birth-of-Bums at the concert given by the Scottish Clans Association in the Albert Hall, London, on January 23rd, states a London exchange. Before the opening of the concert Mr Kenneth G. Burns, a great-grand-nephew of the x>eb, played a selection of Scottish music on the organ. The pipers of. the Association marched to the platJorin to the strains of "The Gathering if the Clans," and the band of. the Scot Guards gave a selection entitled "Scotland's Pride;" There is no need to describe to Scotsmen} or those who know them,, the enthusiasm with which the songs that followed weTe received. All were admirably rendered. Burns, of course, filled the greatar part of the programme, but Allan Ramsay's "Farewell to Lochaber' was a feature of the evening. Perhaps the most interesting . surviving memboi of the pbet's family is Miss Maggie Campbell- Thomson, a greatgreat granddaughter of "Robbie," to whom she bears a most striking re--seinblanoe. The. charming apd vivacious young lady lives in Glasgow with iher father, who is curator of the pubi lie baths.
