[Press Association — Copyright.] (Received Feb 27, 6.30 p.m.) Flemington, Feb 27. The threatening weather had disappeared by the time the first race was run. and' bright sunshine prevailed. The track was heavy, owing to the rain through the week. The Newmarket handicap provided, the most exciting finish, and Soult Line 011 weighing in looked fit to continue the struggle. The results were :— Hurdles : Arihga 1, Kia Ora 2, Alert 3. ■' : Won easily ; time 3 47J. Leger : Even Time — , Golden Gate 2, Monobel 3. Three others started. Trafalgar was leading at the Abattoirs when Golden Gate made a fast run past the field and led into the straight, where Even Time came out and won by a long neck j time, 3.8 J. Newmarket Handicap : Soult Line 1, Dunolly 2, Irishman 3. All started. Soult Line took the lead at the half distance, Dunolly challenging outside and Irishman trying to hold his ' own. Amid- intense excitement Soult Line, straining every nerve, beat Dunolly oy half a neck, Irishman a neck awa j third. Sires' Produce Stakes: Matla 1, Barm 2, Apple Pie 3. Won by six leiigths ; time 1 16. Essendon Stakes : Peridil 1, Signor i Neitli 3. ' Won by two lengths. Brunswick Stakes : Seddon 1, Yabba 2, Jack Smith 3. Won by three lengths ; time 2 59.
