Joseph Stoddard and Frederick Catling were tried for conspiracy to obtain money by offering prizes in certain circulars called "The Football Recortl and Football Sport." Evidence showed that Stoddart had netted nearly £200,000. He. was sentenced to 18 months' . imprisonment. Catling was found not guilty of false pretences, and with regard, to conspiracy the jury disagreed and Catling was released on his own recognisances. ; ■■•• '■'■■■■ . ■
