ADDINGTON LIVE STOCK MARKET.

. Christchurch, Feb. 24. There wore good - entries of stock and a large attendance. Prices for fat cattle, store sheep and fat lambs were all -easier. Fat sheep showed a further sharp decline in prices. Fat pigs ; showed no change, but stores sold better. Store and dairy cattle sold well. The store sheep pens were again filled with a large entry, a good proportion being consignments from outside of Canterbury, and these were generally of a different class. There was a fair demand for all classes, a good clearance being effected, but prices were barely equal to those of the previous week. The strength of the demand was shown by the fact that the market was firmer at the close and the weakening of prices was in sympathy with the decline in the values of fats. The export buyers have reduced their limits for lambs between 361 b and 401 b, the rates over all at the works now being up to 361 b 4£d. 361 bto 421 b 4|d on, and for over -121 b and second quality 4d per lb. In consequence of the lower basis of pur- , chasing values there was a decline in prices and a number of lots were passed in, the growers declining to accept the reduction There were 3077 taken for freezing at 13s to 15s 7d; 381 by butchers a 13s 7d o 14s lOd and a few extrat 017 s ; 600 by graziers at 12s 7d to 13s 7d a,nd 1291 were passed in.
