The necessity for teaching .German was one of the subjects discussed at the meeting' of the Conference at the Merchant Taylors' School recently. Mr Vaughan, of Giggleswick, proposed a resolution regrettine that the teaching of German was declining at the secondary schools, and Canon liyttelton, the headmaster of Eton, opposed the resolution, which ' was passed.
