THE FUNERAL.

The funeral of the late Mrs Henry Eggers took place on Saturday afternoon, and ■ the assemblage was oue of the largest ever, seen in the district, friends from far. and near coming in to show their respect to the memory of one who had been a sincere friend and a ready helper in tbe time of need.

The remains were interred at St. Paul's Cemetery, Upper Moutere. The four brothers of deceased acted as bearers, and the Bey. G- I". Soycr conducted the*, burial service. When tlie graveside was reached the hymn "Forever with the Lord" was siing, and Mr Hover then delivered an appropriately impressive addross. The choir, of wliich deceased had been a leading member/then sang "Abide with Me," and after the coffin had been lowered deceased's favourite hymn, "Safe in the Arms of Jesus," was sung. -

The husband, family and parents of Mrs Eggers have been the recipients of a large number of expressions of sympathy from every part of the district, ancl many from other parts of the Dominion.
