He wrote to his wife the same evening, stating that he was returning owing to dizziness. He telegrapbed again on Saturday . for his wife to meet him at Charing Cross: Newspapers, owing •to the fre-. quency of accidents in the Channel, suggest that all steamers should oarry search lights. A tribute is paid to the popularity of the deceased by Australians ~in London and by official circles, who say that he .deserves all praise for his uutiring .efforts and his patience to advance the interests of Australia.
