HOME GROWN GOVERNORS.
Brisbane, Nov. 27. - In the State Assembly, Mr Airey's motion in favour -of choosing State (Governors from prominent Queenslanders was - talked out: Mr Bowman repudiated the suggestion that the Labour party would follow Mr Airey, and he opposed State Governors all round.
''■'• It is announced that a number of Wealthy American motorists have formed a'corapany for the purpose of laying out the finest speed motor road in the world. The site selected is on Long Island, and when finished will embody.a circuit. of sixty miles, taking in the natural undulations of the country. The estimated cost of the track is £535,000, of which £160,000 has already been spent.
