Fat - cattle were rather firmer, and r siore ■ sheep showed a rise. Fat lambs were ' considerably better/ in consequence : of "a small entry, and fat sheep were at about last week's rates. The range of prices was: Steers £6 2s 6d to £lo los, heifers £5 5s to £9, and cows £4 15s to £9, equal to 24s 6d to 27s 6d<for prime, 21s 6d to 24s for medium, arid 38s to 21s for cow and inferior per 100 lbs. Clinton (Darfield) : One steer at £9, and one cow at £6 17s 6d Cashmere Estate : Three cows at £6 17s 6d to £7 7s 6d: Struan Robertson (Hon Hay): Fourteen heifers at £5 5s to £6 15s, one cow £6 7s 6d. • , . . An average entry of veal calves sold at 4s 6d to 555, according to size and quality. , There was a good entry of all classes of pigs, aiid a fairly keen demand. Choppers sold at £3 12s 6d, heavy baconors 60s to 755,' smaller 50s to 555, equal to sid.to s|d per lb; porkers 35s to 455, equal to 5f per lb; large stores 24s to 28s, large weaners 18s to 22s 6d, smaller 10s to 14s, and a line of purebred Devons 255. " There "was a small entry of store cattle, mostly light and inferior sorts, arid they met with a dull sale at prices from 6s to 7s per head below the previous week's rates.
