A YOUNG MAN DROWNED.
-A sad drowning fatality occurred in the harbour on Saturday evening, a young married man named George Thomas Gundo.rson, a tailor by occupation, being the victim. In company with Jir Arthur Daly, deceased was- proceeding- -in a dingey to a boat that was anchored off shore, when the dingey began to fill. There was a strong sou' wester blowing and it was agreed that Daly should swim to the boat and then call for assistance while Gunderson, who was a fair swimmer, should remain 'in. the dingey, which was- considered capable of supporting one w.erson, but not two. ' Daly reached the boat safely, and his cries brought assistance from->tlie shore, but search showed that Gunderson had parted from the boat and was missing. The body was recovered later in the evening and artificial means for tho restoration of the apparently drowned were tried without success. Deceased leaves a young widow for whoni the deepest sympathy will be felt in her bereavement. '
