ROWDYISM PUNISHED.
[United Press Association.] Nov. 19. At the Court this morning, Norman Woods plended guilty to throwing an Ggg into n crowd in front of >t.e "Star " ofiic9 on Tuesdnj, when t.ie election returns wore being displayed. Sergeant liowden asked for a severe penaJiy, as several people's clothes had been spoiled. The Bench inflicted the highest penalty, £5, or one month, and. described the act as filthy and loathsome. The Magistrate said it was surprising how any grown man could commit such a filthy act. which had suoh disgusting results on people standing round. It was an organised not, as the accused, T?hen caught, had two casis in his pockets. The Bench was sorry that the ■maximum ponaltv was not £50, which would not bo too high for such conduct. The accused man id agad about 24. The tine was paid.
