The dry sheep sold satisfactorily, but for ewes' and lambs the bidding was slack, especially . for aged sorts, and several lota were passed in. Four - tooth shore wethers made up to 12s; shorn twotooth wethers, to 11s <sd; aged ewes, in wool with Jambs, 8s 6d to 9s 6d, all counted ; and cull sorts 6s to Is. r\ lino; of 350 four, six, and eight tootii ewes were passed in at lls. Of pigs there was a large entry in all classes. Choppers, of which few were of good quality, realised up to £4 ss ; baconers were rather easier ; heavy sorts made 60s to 75s ;_ arid lighter made 48a to 58s, equal to'&id to 5%d per lb. Heavy porkera made 42s to 48s, and lighter, 32s to 38s, equal to Gd per lb. In stores jihere wr.s a large' entry, large making tv 40s, and smaller 24s to 235. Wean : ers realised 16s to 20s. • There was a large yarding of fat I sheep, and mostly shorn. They included a good proportion of prime quality. 'The butchers were the only buyers, and being short of supplies^ tnev bid- freely in the early part of the sale, though prices were not quite equal to tnose of the douole market a fortnight before. As the sals progressed, however, values declined till they were down to the level of the last, sale in October. The range of- prices was: Prime shorn wethers, 17s to 19a 6d; lighter. 14s 7dtol6s6d; woolly wethers, 18s to 23s 6d ; prime shorn ewes, 14s Gd to 17s 7d ; others, 10s to 14s. Woolly merino wethers, 12s to 15s 3d, and shorn 9s 6d. There was a poor sale for store cattle, and most of the lots were passed in. The dairy cows ware mostly of poor sorts, and sold at £3 10s to £7 15s.
