The Citizens Band will givie a promenade concert in the Botanical Reserve this evening. The Nelson Provincial Scottish Society will celebrate St Andrews Day by a dinner on tho evening of November 30th. All interested in the formation of a Swimming Club at Tapawera are invited to attend a meeting to be held on Saturday evening next. H. J. Reeves, M;L.C, which occurred at . her residence, Hardy street, ,: yesterday morning. Mrs Reeves, who -had reached her ,75th year, was. born in " Edinburgh;- " and her first experience' of colonial life was in Australia.- She subsequently came to New- Zealand and-, spent a great; many years on the .West Coast For. the past 20 . years she had been : a resident of Nelson. . Mrs Reeves leaves a family of three sons (one 'of her sons. bo-, ing Mr S?J.' Reeves, of Sydney) and seven 1 daughters — Mrs R. Arnold, (Korexe), Mrs C. F., Muntz (Moutore), Mrs E. S. Cress well (Nelson), .Mrs R. H./JEllis (Melbourne), Misses Charlotte, Bessie and Hannah Reeves: The daceased lady had been in delicate health for some time, • but it was only a few days ago that her illness caused grave concern.
