• Christchurch, Nov 14. The New Zealand Cup meeting was concluded to-day in splendid weather, and with a very good attendance. The- racing was extremely good, the finish, in the Fendalton Handicap being one of the very finest ever seen at Riccarton. Speculation was very brisk. The investments amounted to £23,209, making a total' for the meeting of £88,219 ,as against £93,133. for last year,, Fifty-two bookmakers were licensed, their fees amounting to £726. The results were :— Port Cooper Hurdles, of 2CO soys, once round and distance — Lyrist 1, Stronghold 2, Snip 3. Also started. Playmate, Liberator, Farley Grove, and Northern Star. Also started, Petrovna, Bonny Glen, Pellicle, De Witte, Babchick, Passion, Prism Tupono, Zetland and Lady Ranalo. Won by a length and a half; time 1.14 ;. Seymour Handicap, of 120 soys, 6 furlongs — Obligate 1, Debonafre 2, Inphbonny 3. Also started, Miss Mischief, Outlander, Orsirio, Hoiianthes, Saint -Rosalier, Capatina, and Merry Lass. Won by three quarters of a length ; time 1.15 3-5. Members Handicap of 500 sors, 7 furlongs— Master Soult 1, Trugaiiim 2, Dawn 3. Also started, Sir Frisco, Count Witte, Fullrate, Moriarty and All Guns. Won by two lengths in 1.27 1-5. Pioneer Handicap of 300 soys, five furlongs for two year olds — Expansion 1, Caspian 2, Broadsword 3. Also started, Sharpshooter, Elysian and Aema. Won by a neck; time 1.1 3-5. G. G. Stead Memorial, gold cup of 750 soys, weight for ace, one mile and a quarter — Bobrikoff 1, Artillprie 2. Master Delaval 3. Also started, Gronadier, Signor, Kirigdoye and Diabolo.
