Council's representations as to the need of better means of access to the railway platform for the removal of goods, promising attention to the same. - From the Commissioner of Crown Lands informing the Council that a survey ' of the area set apart for a gravel reserve on Champion road had been completed. — Tho Town Clerk was instructed to attend to the mat.ter. From the Motueka Borough Council, inviting the Council to join with them in endeavouring to secure an alteration in the basis of represent tation on the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board so that Motueka might have a representative independently of the Borough of RichrnoncJ.^—Jt iras resolved that this Council is ready to co-operate with, the Motueka Council with a view to 'securing for each contributing body direct representation on ths Hospital and Charitable Aid Board.. The Mayor was requested to attend on 'behalf, of the' Council at _the next election •of members of the Hospital arid' Charitable; Aid Board. Dr;Hamiltdri wrote stating, that it was ' intended to hold a field day of the "several sporting clubs on an early date with . the object" of assisting to. raise funds for the erection of a suitable shelter for-th'eir use, and requesting ""the Council' to -"extend its patronage to the gathering. — It was resolved that tho Council give its patronage to the movement and that in view of tho fact that 'the object is to provide funds to place improvements on the grounds, authority be also given to "make' a charge for admission. The Public Works Engineer- wrote in reference to the drainage of -storm water from the proposed new * post office, and the size of the water services allowed in the borough. — The Town- Clerk was instructed to reply giving tho 'information-, asked for. It -was reported ' tha^ Tnaterial for asphalting had arrived and the matter of gettinpc the work done was referred to the Works Committee. It was resolved that tenders be invited for the supply of day ,carts for the ensuing year. The Waterworks - Committee reported upon the work done at the reservoir and a good deal of discussion pnmied upon the water question generally, and the best means of increasing the supply, stopping waste water, etc. ' *. , <- ' Cr Fanzelow brought up the question of forming a footpath on "tho north side* of Queen street.
