A STATEMENT AND A CONTRADICTION.

Auckland, April 14. At tho resumed nautical enquiry, into the collision between the steamer Wairuna and the scow Moohab' to-day, ono, witnes.4 deferring to the case of the teaman Smith, of the Mooiiah, who was gdrowned, said that at the inquest sufficient evidence had not been taken to establish identification, and that the seaman was buried like a dog. The company would have given tfee man a decant burial. Sergeant K'&ms&y contradicted the witness' statements. He said everything was done that was possible in the circmsfcances, also that, the Coroner was satisfied that sufficient pains had been taken to establish Smith's identification.
