At tbe Police C-urt to-day Walter Cowan, builder and contractor, was charged with several breaches of the Bankruptcy Act, including sis charges of incurring i liabilities wthout reasonable hope of being able to pay them, and one ot failing to deliver books into the custody of official assignee when requested to do so. The accused, who elected to be dealt with summarily, pleaded guilty to all tho charges, and was sentenced to six months' imprisonment on each charge, the sentences to run concurrently.
