GAOL POPULATION OF VICTORIA.
Melbourne, March 6. Tbe Chief Secretary says that tbe gaol poulation of the State is 600 less than 32 years ago, though tbe geieral population has increased by 500,000. Z The Government bad to;: desa gaols in three centres, and one bad been turned into a butter factory.
