Captain Nelson, instructor of mounted infantry, arrived in this city yesterday.
The death is announced at Napier of Mrs Harriet Me Sinol, relict of tb<j Jate Rev. John MoNicol, at the r/ge of 72 yearn She was at one time house governess of the Girl's High School, Ducedin.
•Mr Harold Gregson, lately o New York, but formerly of Napier, has been appointed organist of Sfc John's Cathedral at Napior.
Mr J. J. Tame, of Wellington, was a fellow passenger with Colone Waketield, in 1840. The old gentle man is qnite hearty, and has just re turned from a trip to Australia.
Last week a pioneer of tho early fifties, Mr Henry Trickett, of West Melton, Canterbury, died at the age of 70 years, after an illness extending over nearly two years.
