THE PRESIDENT'S ATTITUDE.

Received March 5, 11.20 p.m. , Newcastle. Marcb 5. In the Coal Court, the President made his promised statement, reviewing the position. He reitetated that t*ie miners had taken an absoli utely unjustifiable position over in camera evidence. If the Miners' Federation withdrew, causing the breakage of the Court, he would say the miners had broken^ their agreement without any justification whatever, merely because they bad failed to dictate to the Court. The only thing for them to do was to withdraw from their attitude, and leave toe procedure of the Court in the hands of the Court.

Counsel for the miners declared that he could not at that stage say what tbe miners would do. He must take instructions from the Federation, and ne asked for an adjournment to further consider tbe posi« tion.

Tue Court accordingly adjoim ed till Monday.
