SUBSIDIES TO PUBLIC LIBRARIES.
Wellington, February 12,
The Government has received 417 applications for subsidies to public libraries out of the vote of £3000 made by Parliament for that purpose. The subsidy will be at the rate of a fraction over 3s oil in the pound. The payments will be made before the end of the nest month.
