CRICKET,

KAMURA V. WELLINGTON OLD BOYS. This game was played on the Paris yesterday. Kainura scored 62 and the visitors 134, the Wellington Bbye thus winning by 72 on the first innings. Kamura id the second innings did much better, and when time was called bad scored 140 for 9 wickets. The wickritkeepiug was a pleasing feature of the gamo. Green, for Kamura, 'stamped two and caught one in fine sty la, and Salmon for Wellington was also good. He allowed no byes in the first innings and dismissed Noale with a splendid catch, but in doing so badly ricued himself, and this (together with a couple of nasty bumps later on) caused him to retire from the field , during Kamura's second innings. To-day the Wellington team will meet the Athletic Club, and have volunteered to fill the gap caused by the Reefton team against the town repa on Monday. As they also play country reps, on Tuesday, this means that the visitors will have played six v^bole days out of the seven, and as two of the matches are self-imposed and only played to save trouble and expense to the local players, the action must be considered a 9 extremely sportsmanlike and in the true spirit of the game. The verdict of those who have played against them, is that they never want to play against better fellows, and N?lson will always bo eager to welcome such teams in the future. Yesterday was about as perfect a day for cricket as could possibly be wished for, and there will probably be some sore arois and faces through sun burn to-day amongst those who took part in yesterday's match. The town rep. team to meet Wellington on Monday is as follows:— Chisholm, Neale, Stiles, Ktiapp, (Athletic), Pairey, Kinzett, Bensemann (Kamura), Franklin, Richmond, Louisson, Liviok (Nelson). Emergencies: Bird (Athletic), Mead and Sniitn (Kamura). . The following players will represent the Athletic Ulub against Wfl lingtDii Old Boys at the .Park at 10 a.m. to-day: Bird, Bishop, Chisholm, Griffin, Hair, Jlessoltine, K. G.
