AN ARREST FOR BURGLARY.

Dunedin, August 21. " This afternoon a young man named H. F. Smith was arrested on a charge of committing the burglary at Messrs Hogg and Go's, timber merchants, and stealing from their office an overcoat and bicycle. Part of a sock, which had evidently been used as a glove ta conceal ; traces of fa'nger mark 3, was handed to the detectives, and this piece, it is said, exactly fittted part of a sock which was found in the accused's room. It is believed accused will admit his guilt.
