Mr Hastings Braddell, the present editor of "The Waikato Times" has been appointed editor of "Tbo Colonist," in succession to Mr T. 11. Bannehr, who will shortly t3ke up his residence in Christchurcb. Mr Braddell will enter upon his new duties in mid-Septemb«r. According to a northern exchange, Mr Weir, -who gained his theoretical mining knowledge at the Wai hi School of Mines, is now filling a portion in South Africa at a salary of J61200 a year.
