NELSON DISTRICT FRUITGROWERS' ASSOCIATION FORMED. MEETING OF STOKE BRANCH.

A meeting of the Stoke Branch of the proposed Nelson Bistr>cfc Fruitgrowers' Association was held on July 29fcb when 20 members were present

Mr H. O. Jacka, President, occupied thß chair, °Bules and regulations, as drawn by the Committee appointed for that purposo at the lnat meeting, wore rend and adopted.

The following were elected a Commit; tee cf the St^kfl Branch: Messrs Arthur Allport.C Beatson, A. Best, Kertz Is acd A. Paynter.

It was decided that meetings be hel 1 at the Stoke Hall on the last Fr!d .y in each month. Mr Izird promiso I to read a paper on "Orc'lard Manuring" at the next monthly raceti g.

| After the meeting a Committes of the Stoke Branch met the Brig'itwater Committee for the purpose of forming an Association.

Ie *ai decidpd that an Association M formed, to ba called the "Nelson District Fruitgrowers' Association," with headquarters at Stoke: the Association to consist of a President, Secretary, and three delegates from each branch formed.

Mr Lightband was elected President, and Mr E. B. Izard Secretary. The Secretary was instructed to write to representative fruitgrowers in the city, inviting them to form a branch, of the District Association.

The Secretary was instructed to write to the Members for the District re the remission of duty on low grade oils for spraying purposes.

The meeting tnen adjourned until Friday next, when rules and regulations for the Association, will be drawn up.
