BURGLARIES IN OTAGO.

Dunedin, Agust 20. Messrs Hogg and Co., timber merchants in Rattray street, had their premises burglariously entered last night. Explosives were used to try and blow the safe open, but the attempt failed. The lock of the safe was damaged, but the burglars got no plunder. Burglars dining last night broke open the magazine at Palmer's quarry at Logan's Point. A^quantity of fuse and explosives were stolen. Both burglaries are believed to be the work of one gang.
