Auckland, August 20. ! T At the f land ballot£at Waimana there were 250 applicants for seventeen farms. At Opotiki there were 1601 applicants for twenty-five rural sections. In^a couple of/years about 100,000 acres of land have been taken up in the Waimana and Opotiki districts, and still there is a great demand for land.
