EOR LARGEST WARSHIPS. Westport, August 19. ! At a_meeting of the Westport Harbor Board to-day, fche Engineer and Secretary submitted a report on the making of Westport into a harbor suitable for a naval coaling harbor to accommodate the largest warships in the Australasian service. It was stated that this could possibly be done from the Board's revenues in ten years, but in four years if the Admiralty granted a subsidy of £200,000. The Board decided to recPmmehd the Premier to forward the report to the Admiralty, with a re-quest-that marine engineers be sent to Westport to report on the proposal.
