s(l Jer United Press Association.) Christchurch, August 17. § The weather was fine for the concluding day of the Grand National Meeting, and the attendance was again g good. Lord Plunket was present. The totalisator investments amounted to £19,199, making an aggregate for the meeting of £61,641. During the day the Stewards asked the owner and trainer of Needlework to explain the difference in that horse's running in the Grand National Steeplechase as compared with his form at Wellington in the July Steeplechase.
