Wellington, August 17. Captain Schultz, of the barquentine Mary Isabel, now in Wellington, was formerly master of the Bbnstance Oraig. He says the captain of the latter vessel was Pinlay Morrison,- not Petersen ; he was a native of Orkney Islands, and leaves a wife and two children now in Melbourne. Gisborne, August 17. There was much jubilation in Woodvillo this morning over the news that a big lode had been struck on the lower level of the Maharahara copper mine. Many years have passed since copper was first discovered in the ranges, and many thousands have been spent in endeavoring to locate the lode. The indications are that the lode is 30ft thick. It was struck at midnight on Wednesday.
