THE KING AND AUSTRIAN EMPEROR.
August 16, 10.6 p.m. Vienna, August 16. The Emperor Francis Joseph, and several of the Imperial Family welcomed King Edward at Ischl, and gave a luncheon at the Imperial villa. The official communique regarding a conversation of upwards of an hour between Baron Achrenthal, the Austrian Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Sir A. Hardinge, declares that all questions of current politics were touched upon, and both recognised that reforms introduced in Macedonia by the entente of the Powers with other Powers' support are in full agreement with Britain's latest declarations. A similar identity of views was apparent regarding the impending proposals to the Porte and the method of dealing with Macedonian bands. As tha attitude of other Powers is in full accord with Britain's and Austria's views, the is favorably to^ the success of disinterested endeavors to introduce serious and lasting improvements into the vilayets.
