The weather , though dull at, the start, cleared latei. on, dnd the afternoon turned out fine. The course was in capital order, and speculation was brisk, the investments totalling £20,887, showing an increase of £3314. The Grand National Hurdles proved an easy win for Shrapnel, who led practically the whole way, and est&blished a new record ior that race. The results were:— Hunt Club Cup, of lOOsovs. Sir James 1, Waihine 2, Albury 3. Also started—Craigmore, Rosemorn, Deer Slayer, Post Haste, Stormy Petrol, , nnd Purimu. Won by three leDgfcbs.
