THE NAIROBI FLOGGING CASES.
Zamzbar, Jul 19. The Higher Court at Mombassa has reversed the sentences passed on Captains Grogan and Grey for flogging natives at Nairobi, East Africa, details of which were cabled on March 15th The Court did not order a new trial, as imprisonment had already been undergone. (Captains Grogan and Grey, members of the Colonists' Association, were sentenced to imprisonment for flogging natives who had insulted, white women. The sentence aroused considerable indignation, and though formally upheld by the Imperial Government, the matter was virtually Weft to the local Courts of.Appealfor decision).
