IN BANKRUPTCY.
MEETING OF CREDITORS. The adjourned meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Ernest Oliver Craig, bootmaker, took placo at the office of the Deputy Official Assignee (Mr W. Rout, junr ) yesterday afternoon. Seven creditors wero present. I3an lrrupt, in reply tc the D.O. A., stated that he had never rec3ived bis share, either by cash or credit, of tbu profits of toe £350 worth of stock obtained from Messrs Healy and Son, and disposed of at a salvage sale held after the first fire. The D.O. A, said that an accountant had been through bankrupt's books, and as the amounts did not tally with Mr Healy's claim, he was compelled to rpject it all but £12. Mr Healy's claim was for £248 2s sd, but according to bankrupt's statement, Mr Healy had not given bankrupt credit for the goods he had obtained from the bankrupt.. In these items there was a difference of £191 in favor of bankrupt. Mr Healy had ciedited Craig with £214 for repairs and bankrupt had debited Mr Healy with £226. Thfl cash payments to Mr Healy were correct. It was resolved that Mr J. E. j Milner be asked to compare bankrupt's statement with the statement furnished by Messrs Healy and Son, to ascertain, if possible, where the discrepancy occurred in the accounts. It was also agreed that bankrupt be allowed to assist Mr Milner in his investigations at a remuneration, to be fixed by the D.O. A.; also to allow the bankrupt to work after tomorrow. The meeting then adjourned until Thursday nest.
