Bf?^ Received June 20, 11.25 p.m. Sir J., Lady and Misa Ward arrived to-day. They are the guests of the Admiral during their stay. They were entertained this afterno'iby the State Government. Received June 21, 1.12 a.m. |" Sydney, June 20. Sir J- Ward,on being interviewed, emphatically reiterated his statement that New Zealand would not. follow the example of Australia in withdrawing from the naval subsidy, and said that if necessary New Zealand would double or more her contributions, and not in return ask for increase or make any bargain with respect to the disposition of tbe fleet or any, right *o share in its control.
