RAILWAY ACCIDENT N.S.W.

The North-Western Mail train was leaving Wetvies' Creek, when the engine and two second-class carriages ran into a siding, owing to the shunters' oversight in not locking the points, and the remainder of the train, consisting of a first-class oarriage and a sleeping car, continuing on the line, were derailed. There were fifty passengers in the derailed cars, and one, named Cochrane, had his shoulder dislocated, while a dozen others sustained bruises and shocks. The engine wss smashed, and considerable damage was done to the rolling stock.
