From Mr J. Day, relative to his water service, and claiming a refund of cost of laying on water. — Referred to Committee. From Mr Wilfcens, asking permission to raise footpath in front of his premises by two inches.— Referred to Committee. From Mr James Bruce, secretary Farmers' Field Day, Wakefield, in reference to fete fixed for 3rd June, and asking the Council to fix that date for the holiday. — Deferred till later. From Mr J. F. Hayes, again applying to have* gas laid on to his house. — Referred to Committee. From Mr Marcus, applying on behalf of Messrs J. and N. Tait to hire steam roller. — Granted on usual conditions. From Mr F. H. Richmond, on behalf of Christ Churoh Vestry, asking Council to have face of clock painted while the Church was being painted. -—Granted. From Messrs Adams and Harley, on behalf of Mr Langlnnds, acoepfcing £117 5s 6d in satisfaction of Normanby Bridge contract. — Payment was then authorised. FrohVMr T. H. Smith, applying for sacond-hand dealer's license.-— Granted. From Mr Poynton, enclosing copy of Napier By-laws, together with some information. — Referred to Committee. T .From'Mr A. P. Giblin, complain ing of insufficient supply' of gas in Nile street; also asking that footpath and watertable be attended to, and intimating that he would hold the Council responsible for any damage. The latter portion was referred to the Surveyor to attend to.
