A FACTORY BURNED.

Auckland May 2. A varnish factory at Avondale, owned by Mr F. J. Best was destroyed by fire to-day. A boiler fitted with inflammable material, used in varnish manufacture caught iire. The whole building was soon a mass of flames and very few cases of turpentine was saved. Two young men, one a son of the proprietor, narrowly escaped from the building with their lives. The building and contents were insured but the particulars of the policies are not available.
