THE S.S. BELLBIRD.

The Bellbird, a small steamer of 52 tons register, ancl 88 tons gross measurement, arrived from Wellington yesterday morning. She was built on the Gippsland Lakes (Vie.) a few months ago by Mr G. Fraser, the owner of the vessel, who is also the engineer, to bring his wife and family and chattels to New Zealand. The vessel is built of Australian red gum, has triple expansion engines of 20 h.p. notniual, and steams between eight and nine knots. The Bellbird left Gippsland for Melbourne in December last, and from there proceeded to Hobart, afterwards voyaging to the' Bluff, the journey across the Tasman Sea occupying n've days. She remained at the Bluff for a couple of months, and then visited Ounedin, Lyttelton and Wellington, staying a short time at each port. The Bellbird will remain in Nelson until to-morrow, and will then sail for New Plymouth and the West Cost of the North Island where Mr Fras6r intends to settle with his family. Captain Muir, formerly of the Baden Powell, is in charge of the Bellbircl.
