LONDON MARKET REPORT.

Messrs Bisley Bros, Bros, and Co. report having received tho following cable from their London agents, Messrs Dalgety and Co., Ltd., dated 27th inst. :—

Butter: Market weak- Tho Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The t?tal imports of butter into the United Kingdom for the week ending the 20th inst. amounted to 80,000 ewt, aa compared with 72,000 cwt. for the corresponding week of 1906. Prime factory 94a, un-

The quotations* were :— Best-wethers 22s to 24s 6d,, extra to 265, good 17s to 20s. medium* 123 to 15s; be9t ewes 16s 6d tolßs6rl, extra to 19s 6d, good 11s 6d to 13s 6d, medium 7s 6d to 10s. In lambs, 1550 were penned this week, but they were not so good in quality as those offered last week, and in consequence of the freezing companies not being able to ship their supplies, owing to boats not being available, there was but a moderate inquiry from these buyers, aai prices declined accordingly, the drop benig about 2s all round, the quotations were : — Best lambs 5a 6d to 16s 6d, a few extra pens at 18s 3d, good 13s to 14s 6d, medium 9s to 11s 6d, small 6s to 7a 6d. . • ' Pigs: The 180 yarded* were comprised of very good quality, except for a few pens of small sorts, which met with little inquiry. Prices for fine quality were more than equal to. late rates, and porkers and baoonera showed an advance of 3s. The quotations are:— Suckers 8s to 11s (id, slips 12s to 15s, stores 19a ta 235, porkers 28s to 335, light baconera 33-s to 435. heavy 45s to 54s 6d, choppers to 60s. Cattle: Two hundred and thirty head were yarded, consisting mostly of medium quality, 1 with a few pens of oxJhra good. Prices for prime quality were firm at recent values, one special pen bringing £12 per head. The quotations are:— Best bullocks £9 10s to £10, medium £8 to £9 59; best heifers to- £9 12s 6d, mfidium from £6 to £7 12s 6d.
