The Nelson Drill Shed has now been placed in the hands ..of Trustees, the following having been appointed: Lie tit. -Colonel LJ Joyce, Lieut.- Colonel G A Harkneßß,Major C H Broad, Captains R W Stiles, £5 K Madigan and A F Trask. A caretaker will be advertised for, and a schedule of charges fur its uso will also be arranged. The Bearer Corps has Ween granted the use of the N C O'a room on 'iv/ 6 nights a week with the right to erect cupboards for storage of its plant. The Garrison Officers Ofub hjas been granted a similar concession. It is hoped now to place the atter upon a aouiid footing and.. a? soon after Easter as possible the Excutivewillbe assembled with a view of arranging a series of evening lectures. Saturdays would probably be chosen to suit the convenience of country officers. c We learn fjhat the annual Easter camp, will this yoaf bii held at'Mottf^ piko, the spot having been decidea upon for its convenience for transport ""and other purposes. The camp, it is understood will excel in interest previous camps. The mounted Battery, and Infantry corps in this portion of the district will be concentrated together and will act conjointly in the darfyifig otft of the manoeuvres. Colonel Kobin, who is at present in Auckland is expected to arrive at an early date. Lieut Colonel Wolf held his first inspection in the Auckland district last week. There was a very tine muster, over 800 of all ranks. The first competition by the Nelsdn Rifles for Mr II Hall's trophy was held last week, the ''leg-in" be-* iing obtained by Sergt Mitchener.
