PORT SUNDAY SCHOOL
Last evening the annual distribution of. prizes to the scholars of the above named School took plaoe, when the Schoolroom was well filled. Rev H JS Baker, the acting- Vicar, pre--1 sided. ? The scholars gave a very enjoyable 1 entertainment* eornprlsing vocal and instrumental music* recitations', and 3 dialogues The Seoretary (Mr Vickermann) > presented the annual report. The report showed that there are ) 90 scholars, with an average attendi ance of 68, with twelve teachers. , Nine of tbe scholars were entered for , the Diocesan examinations, of whom - seven gained certificates. Myrtle I Talbot, Marjorie Jones, and Lewis j Norris gaining. Junior certificates; . while Frances Kid-lon, Mabel Rob--1 -toty Mary McNab, and Theodore 1 Norris won Senior certificatesi Mrs 5 Mules offered a prize for the best j in Scriptural knowledge, for which - eleven, competed;, dation .Fax coni ducted the examination, and those £ gaining the highest number of marks f were Mabel Robson, 100 marks out _■ of a possible of 120; Mary McNab, r 95; and Flossie Robson 90. Mrs i Mules kindly gave three prizes iur stead of one. Canon Fox reported t that he found a good deal to praise *• in the papers, the competitors showb ing considerable knowledge, and on a points he did not expect.
